What is MOPS?

MOPS International (mops.org) is a grassroots movement that believes moms are world influencers. Moms are connected to women in their own communities who meet together to laugh, cry and embrace the journey of motherhood. MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers, and by preschoolers we mean kiddos from birth through kindergarten. We know it’s a little confusing, so let’s just stick with “MOPS.”

We are a non-denominational, Christian organization open to ALL mothers. Mothers of young children often feel isolated or alone and depression and stress are common. Calvary MOPS offers an uninterrupted meal, hot coffee, meaningful adult conversation, the opportunity to learn and create new things—all while your children are being cared for in our MOPPETS program. We are an accepting group of women where moms can share questions and concerns, get advice, meet for playgroups and more!

Calvary MOPS meets twice a month on the first and third Thursdays during the school year at Calvary Church {2101 Gay Street}. Meetings run from 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Each meeting starts with time to relax and enjoy a brunch with other moms.

There are approximately 3,000 chartered MOPS groups worldwide.  If you will be moving or have a friend in another city who might be interested in MOPS, the directory is available at the MOPS International website.
